IABMAS Honorary Members

The 2012 IABMAS HONORARY MEMBERSHIP has been bestowed upon:

  • Man-Chung TANG for his outstanding contributions and innovations to bridge engineering design and practice and for continuously and substantially advancing both the state-of-the-art and state-of-practice in bridge design.

  • Eichii WATANABE for his outstanding contributions to bridge engineering research and practice.

The IABMAS Honorary Memberships will be presented at the Opening Ceremony on Monday, July 9th, 2012, Palazzo dei Congressi, Auditorium.

 
T.Y. Lin Medal

The T.Y. Lin Medal was established by T.Y. Lin International to honor T.Y. Lin for his outstanding contributions to bridge engineering. This award is made to a member of the International Association of Bridge Maintenance and Safety (IABMAS) who, through contributions in bridge maintenance, safety and life-cycle cost, has helped substantially to strengthen the scientific base of bridge engineering: these contributions having being made in the form of journal or conference papers, or other written presentations.

The 2012 T. Y. LIN MEDAL is awarded to:

  • Yozo FUJINO in recognition of outstanding contributions to bridge engineering.

The T.Y. Lin Medal will be presented at the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, July 10th, 2012, Regina Palace, Liberty Hall.

 
IABMAS Awards

The IABMAS awards are for distinguished achievements in the areas of Bridge Maintenance, Safety, Management, Assessment, or Life-Cycle Cost.

  • Senior Prize (nominees must be above 46 years of age by January 1st, 2012).
  • Junior Prize (nominees must be between 36 and 45 years of age at January 1st, 2012).
  • Young Prize (nominees must be 35 years of age or younger at January 1st, 2012).

Selections are based on past achievements.
 

 
IABMAS Senior Prize

 
The 2012 IABMAS SENIOR PRIZE is awarded to:

  • Joan R. CASAS in recognition of outstanding contributions to the application of advanced bridge inspection, assessment, and monitoring techniques.
     
  • Dan M. FRANGOPOL in recognition of outstanding contributions to bridge life-cycle performance, maintenance, monitoring, and cost optimization under uncertainty.
     
IABMAS Junior Prize

 
The 2012 IABMAS JUNIOR PRIZE is awarded to:

  • Fabio BIONDINI in recognition of contributions to bridge deterioration modeling.

The IABMAS Awards will be presented at the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, July 10th, 2012, Regina Palace, Liberty Hall.
 

 
IABMAS Special Service Award

The 2012 IABMAS SPECIAL SERVICE AWARD is awarded to Richard SAUSE, Dan M. FRANGOPOL, and Chad S. KUSKO in recognition of outstanding service to IABMAS as co-organizers of the Fifth International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety and Management (IABMAS 2010), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, July 11-15, 2010.

 
IABMAS Awards Committee
